1. Buhari cancels FEC meeting because of APC primaries

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, announced the cancellation of the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting that holds every Wednesday of the week.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, made this disclosure in a statement made available to Journalists in Abuja, explaining that the cancellation was necessitated by the on going All Progressive Congress (APC) primaries that is holding all over the country.

2. Lagos APC declares Sanwo-Olu winner of governorship primaries

Mr. Tunde Balogun, the Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, has on Tuesday night announced Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the party’s governorship primary.

According to the chairman, the sitting governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, got 72,901 votes, thereby losing to Sanwo-Olu, who Scored 970,851 votes.

3. Court dismisses IGP’s suit challenging the power of the Senate to summon him

The Federal High Court in Abuja, has struck out a suit by the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, seeking to stop the Senate from inviting him for a legislative hearing.

The Police boss had filed the suit after two successive invitations by the Senate, both of which he refused to honour personally.

4. APC suspends Imo governorship primaries indefinitely

The All Progressives Congress has suspended the governorship primaries in Imo State indefinitely.

Yekini Nabena, who announced this in a statement on Tuesday, however did not give any reasons for the suspension.

5. Several cars burnt in fresh Lagos tanker explosion

An early morning tanker fire has resulted in the destruction of several vehicles in Lagos state on Tuesday.

Information gathered said the incident occurred at Barracks bus stop, beside Iyana-Iba, along Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Lagos, but no life was lost in the incident.

6. APC NWC cancels Lagos governorship primaries

The governorship primary conducted in the 20 local government areas earlier in Lagos state, has been cancelled by the chairman of the monitoring committee for the primaries.

Clement Ebri, chairman of the NWC panel for the primary, told newsmen on Tuesday afternoon, adding that a fresh primary will now commence in the state.

7. Ambode is not a good party man – Tinubu

National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has declared that Lagos governor, Akinwunmi Ambode is not a good party man.

He made the disclosure while addressing newsmen on Tuesday when he participated in the Lagos APC governorship primaries.

8. APC shifts senatorial primaries to October 3

The All Progressives Congress has postponed its senatorial primaries in all the 36 states of the country until October 3.

Party spokesperson, Yekini Nabena, made the announcement while addressing newsmen on Tuesday.

9. Dino Melaye emerges Kogi PDP candidate for Kogi West senatorial district

Senator Dino Melaye was on Tuesday affirmed as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, flagbearer for Kogi West senatorial district for the 2019 general election.

Four other contenders in the race were not cleared by the party screening committee while two others stepped down for the Senator who just returned from the APC to the party.

10. Nigerian Army discovers more cars in mysterious Jos pond

Less than a week after the Nigerian Army searching for missing General Idris Alkali (rtd) found his car and belongings, the military on Tuesday pulled out another vehicle from the mining pond in Dura Du, Jos South LGA of Plateau State.

Commander of Operation Safe Haven, Major General Agustine Agundu, said a Toyoto Hiace Bus with registration no Plateau, RYM 307 XA was pulled out, adding that there are 3 more vehicles and other mysteries in the water.
