Suspected Thugs Attack Ogun Deputy Speaker’s Office

One Killed As Gunmen Kidnap Kaduna School Rector

The deputy speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Kunle Oluomo, has alleged that suspected hoodlums, numbering over 100 stormed his Ifo constituency office, and attacked his supporters.

Naija News understands that Oluomo, who represents Ifo 1 Constituency at the state House of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress said that the thugs led by certain motorcyclists’ union leaders in the local government, also vandalised his office.

He said the hoodlums, who milled around his office after the attack, kept shouting, that they would teach him a lesson.

The statement partly read, “Over 100 hoodlums stormed my constituency office this afternoon, wounded party members that are with me and destroyed my office and my free school buses .”They are still milling around my office and the town as I speak now, saying let Oluomo come out now and we teach him a lesson of how not to disobey ‘oga’ on consensus.”

Oluomo said he was later rescued from the scene by policemen from the Sango-Ota Area command, who took him to their office for protection.

This attack came less than 24 hours after gunshots rented the air at the venue of an electoral committee panel meeting of the APC.

The meeting was held by Muhammad Indabawa with six governorship aspirants on Monday night,  at about 11pm.

The governorship aspirants are – Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade (Ogun West), Senator Adegbenga Kaka (Ogun East), Otunba Bimbo Ashiru(Ogun East), Prince Dapo Abiodun(Ogun East), Jimi Lawal(Ogun East) and Abayomi Hunye (Ogun West),

The thugs had invaded the MITROS Suites, Ibara GRA, venue of the meeting, forcing governorship aspirants, electoral committee panel members and journalists to run for dear lives.
The shooting which lasted for about 15 minutes, threw the venue into a bedlam.The police, when contacted, said they were not aware of the shooting.
 The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said, “We are not aware of any shootout at any political meeting, no one has reported any shooting incident to us.”
