Osinbajo Arrives Lagos Ahead Of APC’s Governorship Primary

The Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has arrived in Lagos State ahead of the ruling All Progressives Congress governorship primary in the state.

Report reveals that during Osinbajo’s visit to the state, he will meet with the party’s Chieftains and stakeholders.

The Vice President was reported to have held a meeting with the party’s governorship aspirant, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and other party faithful in attendance was former commissioner, Toyin Hamzat, who declared his support for Sanwo-Olu.

Sanwo-Olu, who has been reported to be the anointed candidate of the party’s national leader, Bola Tinubu, will battle against the Governor of the state, Akinwumi Ambode at the primary on Sunday.

The meeting which saw the Vice President meet with some party members was held after the presidential primary election at Eti-Osa LGA.

Meanwhile, members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have adopted Babajide Sanwo-Olu as their candidate.

A statement signed by Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Honourable (Princess) Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, said the decision was taken at a Parliamentary meeting of the lawmakers which took place at Lateef Jakande auditorium of the House on Saturday.

The lawmakers stated that they were in agreement with the leadership of the party and the Governor’s Advisory Council (GAC) which had earlier endorsed Sanwo-olu for the governorship ticket.
