Chelsea forward, Eden Hazard, has revealed what motivated him to score the late goal against Liverpool on Wednesday.

Hazard, revealed that the late winner against Liverpool in Carobao Cup, was due to his desire to help N’Golo Kante avoid taking part in a penalty shootout.

The blues forward, netted a brilliant goal in the 85th minute in their Carabao Cup third round match at Anfield. He has scored six times in seven appearances in all competitions.

Had the game ended in a draw it would have gone straight to penalties, according to the new rules in the competition.

When asked by Sky Sports what went through his mind prior to the goal, Hazard replied: “I spoke with N’Golo on the bench and he told me he didn’t want to take a penalty, so the only solution was to score!
