Geoffrey Owens is grateful for the $25,000 that was gifted to him by Nicki Minaj after finding out that he worked at Trader Joe, however, he (Owen) thinks there are people out there who needs the money more than he does.

I would like to give this donation of 25K to the Actor’s Fund in memory of the late, great Earle Hyman who played Cosby’s father, ‘Russell’, on The Cosby Show who lived his last many years and died at the Actors’ Home, (funded and run by the Actor’s Fund),” said 57-year-old Owens to TMZ.

The actor stated that he is extremely grateful to Nicki Minaj for enhancing struggling actors to continue pursuing their dreams.

And Nicki is in full support of his decisions. “I’m happy to be a part of a great cause,” she told TMZ. “I wish Geoffrey much success and want him to know how loved he is. Rest in Peace to Earle Hyman.

This comes nearly one month after a woman captured a photo of the 57-year-old actor bagging groceries at a store called Trader Joe’s in New Jersey.

The photo quickly stirred mixed reactions from Twitter users, with many shaming the actor for engaging in decent work.

Not long after, Owens was invited to speak on Good Morning America, and also Hollywood filmmaker Tyler Perry tweeted that he was offering Owens an acting gig on one of his OWN shows, which Owens accepted.
