Fulani Herdsmen Reportedly Kills 100 In Benue

Suspected herdsmen attack in Adamawa State has led to the death of 51 persons including a pastor of the Lutheran Church of Christ in Nigeria (LCCN).

The Nation understands that the incident occurred on Thursday night with villages of Gon, Nzumosu, Bolki, Nyanga, and Bukuto in Numan Local Government Area affected.

According to the residents of the state, the invaders started the from Abbare a neighbouring community in Taraba State, burning down much of three of the affected villages.

In a even more tragic twist of event, the affected communities suffered more casualties as a boat conveying those escaping from the attack capsized causing the death of unspecified amount of people.

While confirming the attacks on five communities, the acting spokesman of the Adamawa State Police Command, DSP Musa Habibu, said he couldn’t confirm the casualty figure, saying police operatives deployed to the council were still being expected to report their findings.
