Police Apprehend killers of Imo Catholic priest

Two Suspects responsible for the killing of a clergy, Rev. Fr, Jude Egbom have been apprehended by officers of Imo State Police Command.

Mr Dasuki Galadanchi, the State Police Commission made this known on Thursday in Owerri, the Imo State Capital.

According to NAN, Egbom was the parish priest of St Patrick Catholic Church, Amucha in Njaba Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Naija News recalls that the suspects killed the clergy while he was barbing his hair in a salon in Nkwere Local Government Council on the 10th of September.

Chigozie Uzoukwu and Peter Boniface were the name given by the Police Commissioner as the suspected killers of the priest.

Two other suspects, Chukwudi Chukwu and Bethel Ibe, who stole a corpse from O-Jesus Mortuary, Akabo and demanded for N5 million ransom were also paraded by the police boss.

He stated that the criminals were apprehended in a forest in Mbaitoli LGA on Sept. 12, after keeping the corpse for many days.

In their separate reactions, Bethel Ibe, a commercial bus driver, said he was lured into kidnapping by his friends.

His co-suspect, Chukwudi Chukwu, said he was an ex-mortuary attendant and was sacked by management of O-Jesus mortuary.
