The Imo State Police Command has revealed that it will not shy away from apprehending any person that goes against the law in obedience with the sit-at-home ordered by the proscribed Independent People of Biafra on Friday.

Mr Dasuki Galadanchi, the State’s police commissioner, gave the warning while addressing a press conference that has in attendance heads of security agencies in the state on Monday in Owerri.

He assured the resident of the state that the police will not allow such order to stand in the state, adding that they should disregard the order.

NAN reported earlier that IPOB, announced a sit-at-home order in the South-East to commemorate September 14 as a remembrance day for the Biafran heroes.

Police commissioner said security agencies would begin “a show of force” in the state on Tuesday to send a warning signal to the IPOB members.

He advised further that any group that is disgruntled should take necessary legal action to register it displeasure, rather than disrupting the peace of the state and the activities of others.

“We are ready to stop the IPOB order; we will not tolerate it and I urged members of the public to go about their normal business.

“Police is there to ensure that maximum security is provided for members of the public,” he said.
