IGP Idris dissolves Special Tactical Squad

Mr. Ibrahim Idris, the Inspector-General of Police has directed that the Special Tactical Squad (STS) be disbanded immediately.

Acting DCP Jimoh Moshood, the Public Relation Officer of the Police Force, on Friday in Abuja, stated that all officers in the squad have been deployed to other departments/formations of the Force.

Moshood added that all the senior police officers attached to the disbanded STS, who known something about the search of Chief Edwin Clark’s home residence were being subjected to strict disciplinary action.

According to the spokesman, the operational core police duties the disbanded STS was known for have been collapsed.

He said that the duties would be carried out by other operational, investigative and response units of the Force.
