Boko Haram hijacks bus, abducts 20 passengers in Borno

Boko Haram insurgents on Wednesday hijacked a commercial bus and kidnapped the passengers on board in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

A relative of one of the kidnap victims, Isa Musa, told Reuters that between 10 and 20 people were kidnapped by the insurgents. It was uncertain of the exact number of people abducted.

Saraki’s presidential aspiration, a huge joke – APC

The All Progressives Congress has again lashed out at the President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, saying his presidential aspiration is a huge joke.

The acting National Publicity Secretary of the party, Yekini Nabena, said this in a statement in Abuja, on Wednesday.

The party said although it was the right of every Nigerian citizen to aspire to be President of the country, it was concerned about issues of integrity, competence and capability to preside over the affairs of the country.

The Borno State Police Command has revealed that spies suspected to be members of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), a faction of ISIS have been operating from Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps in Borno.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Borno Command Ahmed Bello, made this revelation while giving update on security situation at a Humanitarian and Development Coordination Forum in Maiduguri.

A statement by former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar that President Muhammadu Buhari is “power drunk” has been condemned by Femi Adesina, presidential aide.

Abubakar, who is a presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was quoted as saying Buhari is “very uncompromising, power drunk (and) will not be ready to leave power without a fight.”

Nigerian Police Speaks On The Raid Of Edwin Clark’s Home

The Nigeria  police today has attributed  the reason behind the Raid of Edwin Clark’s home as a result of wrong information received by officers  by an informant who said that  there were illicit items at the home of former minister before they stormed the premises on Tuesday.

Naija News learnt that Police spokesperson Jimoh Moshood said the officers who carried out the unauthorized search are likely to be punished for their action, while the informant would be arraigned in court shortly.

A group of Nigerians under the auspices of the Nigeria Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN) yesterday paid for the Presidential nomination form for President Muhammadu Buhari.

They issued a N45 million dummy cheque in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to offset the cost of the Nomination and Expressision of Interest forms.
