The Ondo State Police Command has arrested and paraded one Francis Oladapo, 43, who specialises in issuing fake number plates to some motorists and motorcyclists in the state.

Mr. Femi Joseph, the Command’s Public Relation Officer, stated that the suspect defrauded his victims of N4000 each during the process of carrying out his illegal activities.

Joseph noted that after reports of the activities of Mr. Oladapo got to the know of the command, operatives in the command swung into action and swiftly got the suspect arrested.

“It was unfortunate that on sighting the police, the suspect’s accomplices escaped arrest.
“This illegal act no doubt must have depleted the revenues that should have accrued to the state government revenues,’’ the spokesman said.

He admonished the members of the public to patronise the State Board of Internal Revenue or visit the office of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for the registration of their motors and motorcycles.

While speaking to newsmen in Akure, the suspect confessed that he was recriuted into the criminal act two years ago by a member of the gang who is now at large.
He claimed that he was not aware that his accomplices were engaged in criminality.
