40 Houses Burnt By Boko Haram Sect. In Borno

At least 40 houses have been burnt down by Boko Haram insurgents in a reprisal in Mailari village in Guzamala local government area of the Borno state yesterday, Borno State Police command have said today.

Commissioner of police in the state,Damien Chukwu,made this known at a news conference, while stating that the insurgents stormed the town around 8pm.

Chukwu said the command had yet to ascertain the casualty figure.

“Consequently, while they were returning from their mission, they were repelled by our team on patrol, which prevented them from raising down the entire community.”

On the Alau Dam attack, Chukwu said preliminary investigation revealed that the dam came under attack by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.
