INEC Registers 23 New Political Parties

INEC approves 23 new political parties

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has on Tuesday, approved the registration of 23 new political parties in the country.

A total of 144 political associations submitted applications to be registered as political parties, but only 23 met all conditions for registration.

According to INEC, no further political party would be registered till after the general elections in 2019.

This information was made available to Naija News in a statement signed by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, National commissioner and member voter education and publicity committee, yesterday.

The newly registered political parties bring the number of registered political parties in Nigeria to 91 from the previous 68.
