A Federal High Court based in Lagos has trashed the no-case submission of the former Administrative Secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kwara State, Mr. Christian Nwosu.

Mr. Christian Nwosu has been dragged to the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for the second time for allegedly accepting gratification from former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

He was dragged before Justice Mohammed Idris, along side Tijani Bashir, also a staff of INEC.

Yisa Adedoyin, another INEC official who was arraigned along side the duo for related offences was convicted following a plea bargain, this was after she pleaded guilty to the charges.

Nwosu had changed his plea to not guilty, after he initially pleaded  guilty to receiving N30million bribe from Mrs. Alison-Madueke to rig the 2015 general election results.

He claimed that he pleaded guilty to the offence initially because the EFCC forced him to.

EFCC said they allegedly conspired to directly take possession of N264,880.000, which they reasonably ought to have known forms part of an unlawful act – gratification.

They also allegedly made cash payment of N70,050,000 to Adedoyin, which exceeded the amount authorised by law without going through a financial institution.
