Fear in Ado Ekiti As Another Man Is Killed By Assailants

Pandemonium has erupted once again in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State Capital, as another man was killed by unidentified gunmen in daylight on Monday evening.

The killing is coming three days after the killing of Mr. Bunmi Ojo, a close ally to the former Gov. Segun Oni.

Although the identity of the deceased cannot be ascertain at the moment, witnesses said the man was shot at a junction close to the end of the newly constructed overhead bridge at the Okesa/Ojumose Area of the ancient town at about 5:30pm.

Eye witness says that that assailant pursue the deceased on a motorcycle to the area and was later killed by his assailants.

NAN learnt that the killers who also came to the scene on another Okada, ordered the operator of the commercial motorcycle conveying the victim to stop at the spot where he was killed and sped-off immediately they achieved their aim.

The incident led to sudden closure of many shops in and around the Bisi Market located close to the area by their owners, even as many residents who either witnessed or got wind of the killing hurriedly left for their homes .

When contacted, the police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) for the state command, DSP Caleb Ikechukwu told NAN that the command was yet to be briefed by the Divisional Police Officer, (DPO) of the Okesa Division.

He promised to speak on the attack as soon as he got information about the incident.
