Breaking: Tribunal Delivers Final Judgment On Governor Wike's Election

Wike Commends Corp Members For Their Positive Disposition

Nyesom Wike, Governor of Rivers State, said in ensuring financial independence after National Service, the National Youth Service Corps Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programmes is crucial.

The governor stated this at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area of Rivers.

Wike, who was represented by Chief Kenneth Kobani, the Secretary to Rivers Government, urged corps members to take the skills acquired by them seriously.

He commended the corps members for their positive disposition and good conduct during the orientation course, stating that it will instil discipline in them.

The corps members were advised to strive to sustain their commitment and honesty of purpose in the process of the 2019 general election.

Mr Chukwu Chiwendu, the NYSC State Coordinator, revealed that the corps members were trained to acquire 12 skills in the camp.

They acquired skills in various areas like ICT, Agro-allied business, bead making, pastries and catering amongst others.

“We have opened extra-ordinary window for these corps members to utilise their skills and become entrepreneurs in the race for scarce white collar jobs,” he said.
