NBC Says ‘This is Nigeria’ By Falz Is Vulgar, Fines Station For Airing It

The National Broadcasting Commission Fines Media Station For Airing Vulgar Songs

A media station in Jos, plateau State has been fined by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) for airing Nigerian songs which they claim contain “vulgar and indecent music lyrics”.

The songs listed are Falz “This is Nigeria”, Olamide “See Mary, See Jesus” and Wande Coal’s “Iskaba”.

The offensive lyrics are as follows:

Falz- This is Nigeria– This is Nigeria, look how we living now, everybody be criminal.

Wande Coal- Iskaba– Girl you dey make me kolo, shaking the ass like kolo.

Olamide- See Mary, See Jesus– Casual use of the names of “Mary” and “Jesus.”

In the letter addressed to JODAJ Global Communications Ltd, they stated that the media station pay the fine of N100,000 according to section 14.1.4.1a.
