Acting President Yemi Osinbajo Sacks Lawal Daura As DSS Boss

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has terminated the appointment of the Director General of the Department of State Security Services, Lawal Musa Daura, Naija News can authoritatively report.

Saraki and Dogara release joint statement on National Assembly invasion

Following the invasion of the National Assembly complex by men of the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Police, in which legislators and members of staff, including the Clerk of the National Assembly, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Omolori, who is the administrative head of the Federal legislature, were harassed and prevented from accessing their offices, Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara have condemned the action of the security agents and described it as another attempt to subevert the nation’s democracy.

Former DSS boss, Lawal Daura arrested and detained

The former Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Musa Daura, has been arrested by a by a combined team of the Police and the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for “breaching national security” Naija News understands.

Mr Lawal Daura, was sacked on Tuesday by acting President Yemi Osinbajo.

News about the termination of Daura’s appointment reportedly sparked sparked wild jubilation at the DSS headquarters, in Abuja.

Details of how sacked DSS boss Lawal Daura allegedly planned and executed National Assembly invasion

Lawal Daura, the sacked DSS boss, who is from the same town with President Muhammadu Buhari, sent not less than 100 heavily armed DSS operatives to cordon off the National Assembly premises a few hours to a scheduled National Assembly leadership meeting.

It was also gathered that to ensure that the operations was foul-proof, Daura handed the 100-strong team over to the command of a senior operative, an assistant director, to lead the operation.

The most senior official in the Department of State Service (DSS), Matthew Seiyefa has been confirmed as the acting Director General of DSS following the exit of Lawal Musa Daura.

National Assembly suspends planned meeting after DSS invasion

Following the Drama at the National Assembly (NASS) on Tuesday, Senate President Bukola Saraki is set to hold a world press conference Wednesday (today) afternoon at 12 noon.
