DSS Operatives Takeover National Assembly Blocks Senators From Entering
Security operatives believed to be men of the Department State Services (DSS), have allegedly blocked all entry or exit from the National Assembly Naija News understands. This is an attempt to try to impeach the Senate President and his Deputy.
In a video made available to Naija News a serving Senator, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim is being denied access into his office by the DSS. He asks the DSS officials “Has the military taken over?”
Akpabio Resigns As Senate Minority Leader
Senator Godswill Akpabio has resigned his position as minority leader of the Nigerian Senate, Naija News understands.
The resignation letter, dated 4th August 2018 however did not state any reason for the resignation.

5 Suspects Connected To Kidnap Of Kogi Monarch, Cleric Arrested
Five suspects said to be behind the kidnap of a traditional ruler, a catholic cleric and the recent spate of armed robbery on Okene -Lokoja road have been arrested by the Kogi state police.
