Azubuike Promises To Run For A Term If Elected

Ahead of the 2019 general election, Martins Azubuike, the former speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, has formally declared his interest to run for governorship under the platform of the All Progressive Congress.

While speaking at the state secretariat of APC in Umuahia on Tuesday to make public his interest in the governorship race, Azubuike promised to serve for a single term if elected.

The stakeholders of the party was tasked into considering the winning ability of those seeking the party’s ticket to contest in 2019.

A party like APC, anchored on the pillar of positive change, will consider winning ability of an aspirant as utmost priority in issuance of their ticket. Win-ability comes with number of factors which includes honour, character, integrity, capacity, competence, popularity, acceptability, support base and networks, I know I can lead our party to victory given that I posses the above qualities.”

The speaker of the state Assembly from June 2015 and December 28 2016, said as a legislator, he has gained experience that would ensure good working relationship with the three tiers of government.

The APC governorship aspirant used the forum to present his eight-point agenda for the state, christened ‘Restoration Agenda’ which he said has the objective of “restoring the lost glory” of Abia.
