A former member of the Red Chamber, Senator Aloysius Etok, has said the mass defection of his party’s members to the opposition party would not affect the activities or fortunes of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in 2019.
Senator Etok, a chieftain of APC in Akwa Ibom State, said contrary to many opinions that the move would hinder the progress of the party, he assured that the party would win the forthcoming polls and preserve its majority in the National Assembly.
He warned that politics is about the collective wish of the people, not personal interest.
He said, “The defection of APC NASS members won’t affect the fortunes of the party in 2019. Some of those who defected might not affect the party in their respective state. So, it will not have that kind of damaging effect.”
