Senate President, Bukola Saraki

Saraki May Dump APC Soon

Senate President Bukola Saraki says his chances of leaving the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are “very, very high”.

This was disclosed in an interview granted by Saraki, shortly after the defection of fifteen senators from the APC, which was monitored by Naija News.

There has been an on-going battle between the senate president and the federal government.

Recall Naija News had in June reported that the police invited him for questioning over the robbery in Offa, Kwara state, after the suspects arrested reportedly confessed he bought arms for them.

After a public outcry, the police asked the senate president not to appear but explain in writing, which he did.

However, on Monday, Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police (IGP), summoned Saraki again over the issue, stating that there was a need for him to make further statements on the incident.

Saraki had responded that the invitation was politically-motivated, stating that it was aimed at distracting those willing to leave the ruling party from doing so.
