Alekun LGA Ask For A Member In State House Of Assembly

The leadership of All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, has been pleaded with by a socio-political group, Concerned Odogbolu Stakeholders of the Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State, to zone the state House of Assembly seat to Alekun.

The group stated that the zoning would help solve the problem of alleged marginalisation of the axis in the three segments that made up the Odogbolu constituency.

Adewale Baba, the Chairman of the group, in a statement that was jointly signed with Adedamola Lawal, the Secretary, appealed to the leaders of APC in the area and the state, to give Alekun the opportunity to produce the next representative of the Odogbolu constituency in the state House of Assembly.

The group stated that since the return to democratic rule in 1999, Alekun remained the only one out of the three segments in the Odogbolu Constituency that has not produced any representative for the state House of Assembly.

In the group statement, the state House of Assembly seats in many local government areas in the state are usually rotated among the various segments making up the area, stressing that that of Odogbolu should not be different.

The communiqué read in part, “We assure the party that if they zone the House of Assembly seat to Alekun, 80 per cent of the votes in the area will be delivered in 2019.

The group also commended Governor Ibikunle Amosun for the success of his Mission to Rebuild Ogun State programme, which it said had changed the face of the state in terms of infrastructural development.
