We Know Nothing About Siege On Saraki’s House – Police

The Nigerian police has denied that it’s operatives are responsible for the siege laid on the Abuja residence of Senate President, Bukola Saraki in the early hours of Tuesday.

They also further stated that police personnel seen in various pictures in the media were those in the Senate President’s convoy and his security detail.

37 House Of Rep Members Dump APC

There seems to be more trouble coming for the All Progressives Congress party as 37 House of Representatives members under the party have today, defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) and African Democratic Congress (ADC).

In the defection letter read by the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, the lawmakers cited fictionalization and division in the party as their reason for leaving.

Melaye, 14 Other Senators Decamp From APC To PDP

Fifteen Senators have just defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) to the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Naija News reports that the senate president, Bukola Saraki announced the defection of the aggrieved senators on the floor of the senate this morning.

Saraki Invitation: The Law Is For The VIP Also – Presidency

The Presidency has said it is conscious of the orchestrated campaign against President Muhammadu Buhari each time a Very Important Person is called upon by the Police or other law enforcement agency to carry out their legitimate assignment.

Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and publicity, in a statement, noted the president as saying that the law of the land is intended for all, not for the poor or those at the lowest rungs of the social ladder.

NASS Defection Won’t Affect Buhari’s Re-Election, Says Yoruba Ronu

Yoruba Ronu Leadership Forum, a socio-cultural group, has disclosed that the Tuesday’s defection of some members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) lawmakers to some other political parties would not have any effect on President Muhammadu Buhari’s bid for re-election in 2019.

In a press statement, the secretary -General of the group, Mr Akin Malaolu,made this disclosure known in Abuja on Tuesday.
