Court Adjourns Ruling Till August 13

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court has remanded three men in Kirikiri Prisons on Friday for allegedly robbing woman at gunpoint.

The accused men are Righteous Ejiaru, 24; Sadiq Raheem, 21, and Opeyemi Hassan, 20.

Chief Magistrate Mr A.A. Fashola, who gave the ruling, said the three men should be kept behind bars, pending an advice from the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions.

The three accused men are facing two counts of robbery and conspiracy.

Police Sergeant Michael Unah, the Prosecuting Counsel, while speaking in the court told the court that the three men committed the offences on April 24 at 6.00 a. m. at Amuwo Odofin in Festac Town, Lagos.

Unah alleged the accused conspired and robbed an unidentified woman at gunpoint.

The accused were caught by a mob that reported the case at a police station,” Unah said.

According to him, the offences contravene Sections 297 (2) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The magistrate adjourned the case until August 13.
