Lokoja Traditional Ruler Kidnapped In Kogi

Tragedy has struck in Kogi as the traditional ruler of Jakura town in Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State, Chief Usman Ajibola, has been kidnapped, while his son, Rufai Ajibola, has been killed by unknown gunmen, Naija news Understands.

Confirming the incident yesterday, the Spokesperson of the Kogi State police command, Mr William Ayah, said the monarch and his son were returning from Oworo town in kogi state when the kidnappers attacked them within Imo and Igbonla communities about 15 kilometers to Jakura town.

The Abductors, who were about five in number, forcefully took away the chief alongside his driver; his son was killed as he struggled to rescue his father.   Kogi state has been under attack in it communities for a while now with some villagers blaming herdsmen for the attacks while others simply blame the usual unknown gunmen.

The practice has been to attack remote villages, destroy farms and kidnap people for money. The lokoja-Abuja road has also come under attack from these bandits who seem to roam around unchallenged.
