Fayemi Gets Certificate Of Return From INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has earlier today, issued a Certificate of Return to Dr Kayode Fayemi, the winner of the governorship election in Ekiti State.

Naija News learnt that INEC National Commissioner, Mr Solomon Soyebi, presented  the certificate to the governor-elect  today amid a crowd of supporters at the commission’s headquarters in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

Dr Fayemi commended the electoral umpire and security agencies for a job well done, stating that serious governance has just started for him.

Dr Fayemi, who represented the All Progressives Congress in the election, defeated the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola and 33 other candidates to win Saturday’s governorship election in the state. Fayemi will take the oath of office on October 16.

He polled 197,459 votes while Olusola garnered 178, 121. Fayemi will be inaugurated on October 16.
