The Theater Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj. Gen. Rogers Nicholas has revealed that two soldiers, during the course of an ongoing clearance operation against Boko Haram insurgents in Bama Local Government Area of Borno were injured.

The Major General made the issue clear on Monday in Maiduguri while reacting to reports that some soldiers and military vehicles went missing in the attack by the insurgents at Kwakwa community of Bama.

He revealed that the two military officers injured in the attack were receiving treatment at a medical facility.

“It is not true; we did not loss anybody in the operation, we had only two injuries, one officer and a soldier wounded.

“The General Commanding Officer (GOC), 7 Division, Brig. Gen Abdulmalik Biu, has just come from Bama. He went there to assess the situation in continuation of the clearance operation.

“We need to work with facts and we are always ready to share information with the media so that you present true situation of events,” Rogers said.

The Military boss, who assured the media of continue support to enable them to discharge their constitutional mandate, admonished journalists to always confirm facts with relevant authorities.

The commander assured Nigerian of the commitment of the Nigerian Military to  to end insurgency and restore peace in the northeast.
