I Was Not Arrested Because Of Biafra, APC Wants To Shut Me Up
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, representing Abia South Senatorial district, said he was recently arrested because the rulling All Progressives Congress (APC) wanted to shut him up.
He made the disclosure on Saturday during a reception held in his honour in Aba, Abia state.
Certificate Forgery: PDP Demands Adeosun’s Immediate Sack, Arraignment
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately sack, arrest and arraign his minister of finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun for alleged criminal forgery of her NYSC certificate.
PDP urged President Buhari not to provide a cover for Adeosun in the character of his Presidency whenever close allies or agents are found wanting on issues of corruption.
Farmer/Herder Conflict: Beware Of fake news, inflammatory statements – Buhari
The Federal Government has admonished the member of the Public, including international communities to stop spreading false stories and inflammatory statements concerning the recent herder-farmer clashes.
The Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, in a Statement made available to Naija News in Abuja on Sunday, said the Nigerian Government is working closely with state governments and the security services as well as international partners to resolve this ongoing issue.
4,650 Personnel To Be Recruited By FRSC
Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Boboye Oyeyemi, while having an interview with NAN revealed that the corps will recruit additional 4,650 officers and procure new logistics vehicles to improve road safety management in the country.
Oyeyemi, while speaking stated that the corps will employ the best in road safety management in the second part of the year.
Ekiti Election: 30,000 Police Personnel, Two Choppers Deployed
Ahead of the Ekiti State election, the Nigeria Police force has deployed 30,000 operatives, two helicopters and 250 patrol vehicles, five Armoured Personnel Carriers included for the July 14 governorship election.
Joshiak Habila, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Operations, will oversee the security operation for the election and will be assisted by an Assistant Inspector-General of Police, four Commissioners of Police, eight Deputy Commissioners of Police and 18 Assistant Commissioners of Police.
President Buhari Commends Thailand Cave Rescue Efforts
Government of Thailand and international volunteers have been commended by President Muhammadu Buhari for their effort to rescue 12 children and their coach trapped in a cave for more than two weeks.
Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, in a statement made available to Naija News stated that the President applauded the efforts to rescue the trapped victims who are presently threatened by starvation and death.
