Protesters Storm National Assembly, Demand Saraki’s Resignation

The Police in Charge of securing the National Assembly had no choice by to shot the gates of the complex, when hundreds of enraged youth flooded the National Assembly to protest the allegation of budget padding by the lawmakers and to demand the resignation of Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Despite the efforts to lock protests out, of the complex by the police, the protesters were able to unlock the gates and entered the premises.

The Protesters alleged that the insertion of constituency projects into the national budget by the lawmakers was to enrich themselves.

They also demanded that the president should resign his position and fail trial for his alleged connection with the Offa Robbery.

The Citizens Action to Take Back Nigeria (CATBAN) is believed to have facilitated the protest.
