Okorocha, Izunaso supporters’ Face-off Disrupts APC Convention

Imo APC Fractions almost engage in the free for all fight

The strive between the fraction in the All Progressive Congress has been brought to fore as the support of Imo state Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and those of Senator Osita Izunaso almost physically engaged themselves in a fisticuff in the early hours of Sunday at the National convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Result of the National Organising Secretary would likely not be released today even thought the situation was brought under control.

Abubakar Badaru, the governor of Jigawa State and Chairman of the convention committee announced that in view of the high tension it has generated, both parties has agreed not to hold the election.

While Izunaso who is vying for the office of National Organising Secretary has the support of some heavyweight of the party from the south east, Governor Okorocha is showing support another candidate for the position in what many sees as his last fight to redeem his political image.

Naija News gathered that during the Ward, local and state congresses, Izunaso gain the control of the party from the governor.

However, security agents deployed to ensure security at the convention appeared to have been overwhelmed by the situation on ground as all manner of people who are not supposed to be inside the Eagle Square have found their way into the place.

Some of the boys who have found their any into the arena are openly smoking weeds in the pavilions.
