Controversial Rapper XXXTentacion Shot Dead In Broad Daylight In Florida

The rapper had a troubled childhood and was expelled from school, but he channeled his anger into music

American rapper XXXTentacion, who quickly rose to fame with two hit albums, was shot at close range at 20, in broad daylight, in Florida ( USA ).

On Monday afternoon, XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Onfroy, was leaving a motorcycle dealership when two gunmen approached his car. At least one of them shot the rapper.

he crime occurred in broad daylight on one of the streets of Deerfield Beach, 69 kilometers from Miami.

The Broward County police chief said that after the attack, the two suspects fled in a dark SUV. Investigators believe the rapper may have been the victim of robbery (theft followed by death). A video posted on social networks apparently shows Onfroy’s body inside his car.

Police say Onfroy was taken to a hospital where he died.

He was described as a controversial artist and faced charges of domestic violence.

XXXTentacion first attracted attention and audience by releasing their own songs on the SoundCloud website. Gained fame and praise for innovative talent. With his death, hip-hop stars honored Onfroy.

Author of US successes as SAD! and Moonlight , XXXTentacion gained prominence after the release of their first album, 17 , last August.

His songs covered such topics as depression and he was praised by rap stars.

But the short career of XXXTentacion was tainted by allegations of domestic violence.

He faced 15 criminal charges at the time of his death – including one of aggression against a pregnant woman.
