I will Build On What Aregbesola Has Done- Lawal

An All Progressives Congress, (APC) man, Ayoade Afolabi Lawal has joined the Osun State gubernatorial race as the September 22 election approaches.

Already, 27 aspirants have signified their intention to participate in the party’s primary election scheduled to hold on July 7, 2018, Naija News understands.

Addressing members of the APC at the party secretariat along Gbongan-Osogbo Road, Engineer Lawal promised that the industrialisation of Osun State would be the main focus of his government if elected in September.

He told the party leadership in the state that his government would continue from where the outgoing government stopped by ensuring the completion of all ongoing projects, while also focusing on the industrialisation of the state.

Lawal commended the incumbent Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for his “unprecedented development in the state within the state of seven and half years and I promise to build on his legacy if I emerge victorious in the coming election.”

In his words, “Osun State has experienced some infrastructural development through efforts of the outgoing government and previous ones and we must commend them for trying their best because infrastructure is crucial for development.

“But for all-round sustainable development, industrial development should take precedence henceforth. This is the way to complement what has been achieved and to deepen the recent gains of democratic governance.

“My administration shall create value chain industrialisation that will be all-inclusive and no son and daughter of Osun will be left out in the scheme. As we are promoting small and medium scale businesses across the nooks and crannies of the state, our government will also work hard toward attracting foreign investors into the state,” he added.
