Uruguay Defeats Egypt In World Cup Group Opener

A 90th minute header from Uruguay’s Jose Gimenez ensured Uruguay got all the three points in their Russia 2018 World cup clash against Egypt.

The result means Uruguay is yet to lose to an African opponent at the tournament while Egypt also remains in the hunt for their first win.

All through the game, Luis Suarez and Edison Cavani both missed missed several chances for Uruguay to seal victory until defender, Gimenez’s header settled the game in favour of the South Americans.

Egypt were without their talisman, Mohammed Salah who watched from the bench as his teammates lost the game.
