The State entrance examination for public schools that was earlier slated to take place starting from Saturday, June 16 to Saturday, June 23 has been postponed by the Kwara Government.

The information was made available in Ilorin on Tuesday by Hajiya Bilikis Oniyangi, the Kwara Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development.

She stated that the exams has been shifted due to the Sallah celebration, adding that the state joint Mock Exam for the SS2 students has also been shifted and will commence from Monday, June 25 to Friday, June 29, 2018.

She said that times and venue for the exams remain the same, while urging all the principals of public schools to take note and ensure submission of schedules of entry to Exams Department immediately.

Oniyangi also said the government has declared Wednesday, June 13 and Thursday, June 14, 2018 as mid-term break for both public and private schools below the tertiary level in the state.

According to her, the declaration of mid-term break for third term academic session is in line with the 2017/2018 academic school calendar.

The commissioner, however, warned all the public and private schools to strictly adhere to it in order to avoid sanctions.

Oniyangi wishes all the staff, students and other stakeholders in education happy and stress-free holiday.

Naija News earlier reported that the federal government has also declared Friday, 15th and Monday, 18th as public holidays to celebrate the end of the Ramadan fast.
