Senate Approves Buhari’s Decision On June 12 As Democracy Day, Urges INEC To Declare Result Of 1993 Election
The Nigerian Senate has applauded President Muhammadu Buhari’s decisionto formally recognize late Chief MKO Abiola and Ambassador Babagana Kingibe as winners of the June 12, 1993 presidential election which was annulled by the military government of Ibrahim Babangida.
Naija News also learnt that the Senate resolved that both winners, Chief MKO and Kingibe be recognized as both President and Vice President elect respectively. The resolution further directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to as a matter of necessity declare the results of the June 12 presidential election.

The Nigerian Police has released videos on confession of another suspect which implicated Senate President, Dr. Saraki in the continuous investigation of theOffa bank robbery.
The video was released on the official social media page of the Nigerian Police.
June 12 Democracy Day Declaration Sparks Rowdy Session In House Of Reps
A rowdy session erupted in the House of Representatives on Thursday over the recent declaration of June 12 as the new Democracy Day, in Nigeria by President Buhari, Naija News understands.
While some lawmakers supported it, others asked the president to rescind his decision. Some of the lawmakers also kicked against the honour given to Moshood Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12,1993 presidential election.
Buhari’s June 12 Declaration: Afenifere Fears That It Is A Plan To Influence Voters
Following the declaration of June 12 as Democracy day by President Muhammadu Buhari, and the posthumous award to the late Moshood Abiola,the pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere has called for caution on the part of Nigerians.
According to PREMIUM TIMES who spoke to the spokesman for Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, the group had been on the struggle to get the government to recognise the historic moment of June 12 and the sacrifice of Mr Abiola for two decades.

Embattled Kogi West senator, Dino Melaye, has expressed support for Senate President Bukola Saraki in light of his on-going saga with the Nigerian Police.
Melaye posted a picture of himself and Saraki, which he tagged “God is with us my man. Nothing to FEAR.”
PDP Win Kaduna State LG Rescheduled Election
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Mr Philip Gwada has been declared the winner of the rescheduled chairmanship election in Jaba Local Government Area.
While announcing the result in Kwoi on Thursday, Grace Doyaro, The Returning Officer, said Gwada got 17,967 votes to defeat the APC candidate Mr Benjamin Jok who scored 7,401 votes.
