Buhari/Osinbajo Feeding Allowance Slashed By N18m

Presidency’s 2018 Feeding Budget Revealed

The budgeted feeding allowance for the seat of president Muhammadu Buhari and vice-president Yemi Osinbajo have reportedly been slashed by N18million in the 2018 budget.

In the line item identified as “foodstuff and catering material supplies,” The Cable reports that the president and vice-president got N149 million, this is N18 million lesser than the N167 million which was budgeted 2017.

Buhari got N98.3 million while Osinbajo got N50.8 million.

The budget also showed that Aso Rock got N145 million as allocation for “foodstuff and catering material supplies,” N22 million lesser than the N123 million it got in 2017 budget.

A separate sum of N44 million was budgeted for “refreshment and meal” for president Muhammadu Buhari and vice-president Yemi Osinbajo.

The sum of N25.7 million goes to Buhari’s office while the sum of N18.3 million goes to Osinbajo’s office which were not made available for the two offices in 2017

Aso Rock also gets a separate N137 million for the same purpose, N40 million higher than the N97.2 million it got in 2017.

Naija News recalls the National Assembly in May, passed the 2018 budget, about six months after it was presented to the lawmakers by President Buhari.

The 2018 budget is yet to be signed into law by the President.
