1. IGP Ibrahim Idris gets President Buhari’s approval to arrest Dr. Bukola Saraki

President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday reportedly, gave his blessings to any plan by the police to arrest Senate President Bukola Saraki over a string of murder cases in Kwara State.

The president received Inspector-General Ibrahim Idris at the State House on Friday afternoon, during which he was told of at least 20 murders allegedly linked to Mr Saraki in his home state, according to multiple sources briefed of the meeting.

2. Police invites Senate President, Bukola Saraki for questioning over Offa bank robbery

The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has been invited by the Nigerian police over the April 5, 2018 Offa bank robberies in which nine policemen and over 33 persons were killed and millions of naira carted away Naija News understands.

The force said it would interrogate Saraki following allegations indicting him from confessions of Five Gang leaders arrested for active participation in Offa Bank Robbery and Killings of thirty three Innocent persons.

3. NUPENG issues 21 days warning over employee welfare

The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) on Sunday gave a 21-day ultimatum to employers in the Nigerian oil and gas to address workers welfare to ameliorate their sufferings.

NUPENG President, Williams Akporeha, said at a news conference in Lagos that over 500 union members had not been paid after working for some international oil companies.

4. DSS withdraws Saraki, Dogara’s security details

The Department of State Services (DSS), has withdrawn half of the security operatives attached to the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the Speaker of the house of representatives, Yakubu Dogara.

The security operatives were withdrawn less that 24 hours to the scheduled talks between Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and the nPDP team to be led by Dogara.

5. Saraki describes Police invitation as plan to implicate him

In response to the invitation by the Nigeria Police over the April 5, 2018 Offa bank robbery, the Senate President Bukola Saraki has called on the members of the Public to disregard this claim as a baseless allegation and another ploy by the Police to implicate him by all means.

According to a press statement signed by his Special Assistance of Media and Publicity Yusuph Olaniyonu, Saraki denied sponsoring armed robbers against his own people, adding that there is no link between himself and the robbers.

6. WAEC to release 2018 examination results in 45 days

The West African Examinations Council says it will release of its 2018 West African Senior School Certificates Examination results in 45 days.

The Head of Public Affairs, WAEC in Nigeria, Mr Damianus Ojijeogu, revealed that the WAEC result was going to be release on or before 45 days.

7. Odigie-Oyegun calls on Okorocha to put Imo APC in order

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, has asked the Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, to do a self- assessment because there is a united voice against his style in his state.

Odigie-Oyegun said this in an interview with reporters in Abuja, on Sunday, when he was responding to questions about allegations levelled against him by the Imo State Governor.

8. 10 killed in cult clash in Benue state

No fewer than 10 persons were on Sunday killed with several persons injured in a clash that broke out between cult groups in Otukpo, Benue State.

According to the Otukpo LG boss, Hon. George Alli, normalcy had since been restored to Otukpo while 15 persons have been arrested in connection with the crime.

9. Former ICPC boss, Mustapha Akanbi is dead

Justice Mustapha Mustapha Akanbi, former President of the Court of Appeal is dead.

Mr Akanbi died Sunday morning in Ilorin, Kwara State and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

10. Gernot Rohr releases Super Eagles World cup final list

Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, has released the final 23 man list of players who will represent Nigeria at the Russia 2018 World cup tournament.

Ola Aina and Mikel Agu were dropped on Sunday after Rohr had initially trimmed his team down to 25.
