They Pose As Commuters To Attack Their Victims

Abdullahi Mohammed, who happens to be a former prison officer, and a housewife, Aisha Abubakar, were arrested by police alongside four other suspects for allegedly snatching motorcycles in the Maitumbi area of Minna, Niger State.

Further report has it that the suspects often deployed Aisha to pose as a commuter to Shakwata village where their victims gets attacked.

Aisha while speaking newsmen revealed that Abubakar convinced her to be part of the robbery after which she was given N7,000 as her own share of the proceeds.

They usually made available N500 for me to take motorcycle from the PZ area to a nearby bush in Shakwata village where they are hiding and the moment I got there, they would rush out of the bush and rob the victim of his motorcycle. They may even kill him if he is unlucky.

“I am a housewife, my husband is in prison for a similar offence, that was why Abubakar Mohammed approached me to join them because it is the easiest way of making money,” the teenage housewife stated.

Muhammad Abubakar, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, said police operatives recovered three Bajaj motorcycles from the suspects, adding that the matter would be charged to court after investigations.
