Four Persons suspected to be member of Eiye Confraternity have been arraigned at the Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State were on Friday.

The four suspects; Ademola Solomon (23), Nweke Christian (24), Sunday Ikoh (24) and Lawal Afolabi (21) are contending with two-count charge of conspiracy and belonging to a secret cult.

Sgt. Bosede Adegeshin, the prosecutor revealed to the court that the offences was committed on May 22 at Aina Folabi Street, Lowa Estate, Ikorodu, at 11.42 p.m by the accused with others at large.

“The accused and their accomplices, who are yet to be arrested, belonged to an unlawful society called ‘Eiye confraternity’.

“They were caught during their meeting in the area following a tip off,’’ Adegeshin told the court.

The offences is contrary to Sections 42 (a) and 411 of the Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.

Mr. E.O. Ogunkanmi, the Magistrate, after they all pleaded not guilty, had granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties.

According to The Nation,

Ogunkanmi said one of the sureties must be blood relations of the accused, while others should be civil servants, whose tax payment to the Lagos State Government should be verified.

The case was adjourned till June 28 for further trial.
