Ajimobi Demands N33bn Refund From Federal Government

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state has asked the Federal Government to refund the sum of N33billion which was used to reconstruct and rehabilitate some federal roads in the state.

The governor who was represented by Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mr. Olalekan Alli said this while receiving the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Suleiman Hassan Zarma and his delegation on an inspection of Federal Government projects across the state.

The governor advocated that the maintenance of all federal roads in states of the federation should be handed over to their respective state governments, while funds meant for it be released to such states through the ministry in charge.

Ajimobi also used the opportunity to call on the Federal Government to complete the Lagos-Ibadan expressway and the Oyo-Ogbomoso road speedily, which according to him had claimed many lives.
