Senate In Closed Door Session With Security Chiefs

The Nigerian Senate is currently holding a closed-door meeting with the country’s security chiefs led by Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Olonisakin and Director General of State Security Services, Lawal Daura.

The Service Chiefs for the Army, Navy and Airforce did not appear in person but were however represented by their various representatives.

The Inspector General of Police, Comptroller General of Customs and Comptroller General of Immigration, also sent in representatives.

They were summoned to brief the lawmakers as a result of a Senate resolution on the proliferation of dangerous firearms, spate of killings by terrorists and kidnapping by hoodlums across the country.

Naija News gathered that Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan moved the motion to usher in the security chiefs.

Earlier reports by Naija News had revealed the decision of the senate to host the security chiefs during today’s plenary.
