Two Men Arrested For Killing Neighbour

Murder Case

Two men have been arrested by policemen in Ogun State after they murdered their neighbour, one Happy Patrick, stole his motorcycle and threw his body in a nearby bush.

Abimbola Oyeyemi, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, said the two suspects, Patrick Udom, 35, from Akwa Ibom State and James Roland, 25, from Delta State have been arrested.

He said they were arrested after the elder brother of the victim, one Moses Utuede, raised an alarm when he couldn’t find his brother who reportedly left home around 7am on May 15,2018 and hadn’t returned.

He said: “On the strength of the report, the DPO, SP Jaiye Richard, detailed detectives to embark on full scale investigation to unravel the mystery behind the sudden disappearance of the victim.

“Investigation later revealed that the victim was last seen with Patrick Udom, leading to his arrest.

“After a thorough investigation, the said Patrick Udom confessed to have killed the victim and ably assisted by Roland James.

“He stated further that the victim who lived in the same community with them was killed because they wanted to steal his motorcycle, which they actually did after killing him.

“The body of the deceased, which was concealed in a sack and threw in a nearby bush, has been recovered.

Also recovered from them are the two cutlasses used to kill the deceased, one hammer and a digger.

“Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the case be transferred to Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence for discrete investigation and prosecution of the suspects.”
