Two men, Lukman Oropo, 30, and Musliu Sikiru, have been arraigned before the in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State over goat theft valued at N50,000 by the police.

Sgt. Bosede Adegeshin, The Prosecutor, told the court that the duo committed the offences at Tiamiyu Shittu Street, Offin Area, Ikorodu, on April 20, therefore are facing two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

He added that “ Tiamiyu Shittu rears goat in his compound, but some weeks ago, he couldn’t find the goats and told the neighbours who helped him search the community and the goats were later found at the defendants home.”

According to him, the complainant, Tiamiyu Shittu, who is the owner of the goat, had his goats recovered from the defendant’s house.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Laws, Lagos State, 2011.

Mr. E O. Ogunkanmi, the magistrate, who adjourned the case until May 26 for further hearing, granded the defendant bail, after he pleaded no guilty to the charges before him.
