Abductors Of Police Officers Demand N30m Ransom

Kidnappers of the two policemen who were on official visit to Port Harcourt from Abuja last week have demanded a ransom of N30m.

The two officers, Sgt. Haladu Mohammed and an unidentified colleague were with the Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abuja.

Naija News learnt that the two policemen were kidnapped from their hotel room were they lodged in the garden city.

However, the police high command have not said anything about the incidence, stating that they were still probing the incident.

But one of the police father, Alhaji Umar Arikya, who confirmed the incidence, stated that he was surprised, as it is unexpected since his son was a detective.

Arikya, a retired Superintendent of Police, however called on the police authorities to do everything to rescue Mohammed and his colleague.

Naija News understands that Mohammed’s brother, who also is a policeman has been contacted by one of the kidnappers, demanding N30m ransom.

Meanwhile, the Eggon Cultural and Development Association, has solicited prayers from its members for the release of the abducted police detectives.

The Deputy Force Public Relations, Aremu Adeniran, said he was not aware of the incident.
