1. Obasanjo’s coalition adopts ADC

The Chief Olusegun Obasanjo’s third force movement, has adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as the political platform to realize its ambition of unseating Buhari and APC.

He made this known when he addressed the press at his presidential library home in Abeokuta on Thursday evening.

2. Oshiomole formally declares interest in APC national chairmanship position

Former Edo state governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole has formally declared interest to contest for the position of the APC national chairman.

The former labour leader who made his declaration earlier today in Abuja promised to re re-branded Party and reconcile all grievances within parties within the shortest available space of time, and is rumoured to enjoy the support of President Buhari.

3. Court declares Senator Omo-Agege’s suspension illegal

A Federal High Court in Abuja has declared the suspension of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for 90 days illegal.

Justice Nnamdi Dimgba who precised over the case ordered an immediate re-instatement of the Senator to his position in the National assembly.

4. Dayo Adeyeye dumps PDP for new party

Dayo Adeyeye, a governorship aspirant in the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primary, says he is defecting to another party in order to realise his ambition of providing rapid development in the state.

Mr Adeyeye, who polled 771 votes out of the 1,986 cast during the primary, made this known on Thursday in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

5. Nigerian doctors threaten strike should FG bow to JOHESU demands

Nigerian doctors have threatened to withdraw their services across health institutions in the country if the federal government accedes to the demands of other health workers who have been on strike the past three weeks.

The strike by JOHESU( Joint Health Sector Union) has crippled healthcare delivery across the country, and has left millions without care.

6. Nigerian army troops kill 8 bandits in Zamfara

Eight bandits were on Thursday killed by troops of the One Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Gusau during a gun battle in Maru Local Government area of Zamfara.

The Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, Major Clement Abiade said the bandits were caught while the army was carrying out clearance operations in the state nicknamed “Operation Idon Raini.”

7. Nigerian diplomat killed in Sudan

A Nigerian diplomat was on Thursday found dead at his home in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, two security sources said.

It was gathered that Dubai-based al-Arabiya television identified the diplomat as the consul-general and described his death as an “assassination”.

8. APC shits Ekiti governorship primaries to Saturday

The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC has scheduled its Ekiti primary elections for Saturday, 12th May.

The inconclusive primary re-run was earlier scheduled for Friday but the party statement said the date has now been changed to Saturday after consultation with stakeholders.

9. CJN sacks Adamawa judge, probes 25 others

The National Judicial Council (NJC) has recommended the compulsory retirement of Justice Michael Goji for refusing to proceed on transfer to the Mubi Judicial Division of the State High Court since July 2017.

The council is also probing the activities of 25 other judges.

10. Bode George loses son to death

Dipo George, the son of former Deputy National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Bode George, is died.

Dipo, who was born by the George’s first wife, Feyi, according to family sources, was 42 years before his death at a hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos in the early hours of Thursday, after a long battle with an undisclosed ailment.
