All the aspirants, who were cleared last month, have been given copies of the list of delegates expected to vote at the primary.

Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa accompanied by the Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose today inspected the Venue for the Ekiti State PDP Governorship Primaries.

The top contenders for tomorrow’s primaries includes, Prof. Kolapo Eleka, Prince Dayo Adeyeye and Sen. Olujimi, though there are unconfirmed reports that Sen. Olujimi has stepped down from the race.

There is a change in plan. The Afe Event Centre won’t be used for voting anymore because of the distance between it and Great Eagle Hall where accreditation is ongoing.

An arrangement has been made for voting to take place at Dove Hall which is closer to the venue of accreditation.

Also, accreditation and voting won’t take place simultaneously. “It’s going to be one after the other,” Femi Owolabi, TheCable’s reporter covering the exercise, quoted a member of the organising committee as saying.

An agent said 1,965 delegates were accredited but we are yet to get official confirmation.

“We have accredited everybody but the only person left is Governor Fayose. You will allow us accredit him inside this hall when he comes,” says Okowa.

Olujimi has stepped down for Adeyeye.

“For the benefit of our party, I offer myself and I transfer my structure to Prince Adeyeye.” Olujimi says.

Okowa has confirmed that 1,965 delegates were accredited. He said Governor Fayose was still expected at the venue.
