The national leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu today met with the governorship aspirants of the party in Ekiti state, at the Lagos state government lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.

Kayode Fayemi, minister of mines and steel development; Segun Oni, APC deputy chairman (south); and Babafemi Ojudu, politcal adviser of President Muhammadu Buhari were all present in the meeting.

Bisi Akande, former interim chairman of the party, who is also at the meeting alongside Olusegun Osoba, a former governor of the state, told reporters briefly that they were on a break and the meeting would continue shortly.

This meeting comes few hours after Bolaji Abdullahi, spokesman of the ruling party, announced that a fresh primary election would hold on Friday.

Saturday primary was marred by violence this resulted in the cancellation and indefinite postponement of the election.

Some of the aspirants would likely be told to step down. Thirty-three aspirants are seeking the ticket of the party for the July 14 election.

The APC has up till Monday to present its candidate to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
