Twitter Advises Users To Change Passwords

366m Users Affected By Twitter Password Bug

Twitter, a micro-blogging website has asked every of it users to change their password, after a bug saved users password on an internal log without proper encryption.

They stated that there is no evidence that password have been leaked, but advised its over 366 million users to change their passwords, so as to be safe.

The directive is as obtained by Naija News from the support page of Twitter.

We recently found a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. We fixed the bug and have no indication of a breach or misuse by anyone,” the company tweeted.

As a precaution, consider changing your password on all services where you’ve used this password.”

The company did not tell how long the bug has been storing the passwords or how many passwords had been stored.
