Senator Shehu Sani Reacts To Kanye West’s Views On Slavery

Senator Shehu Sani today, has reacted to a controversial statement in which American rapper, Kanye West said that 400 years of slavery experienced by the Black race in America was a choice.

The senator through his twitter handle, invited the rapper to visit slavery monuments in West Africa and said West’s statement can be said to mean defecating on the graves of victims of slavery.

He wrote; If @kanyewest thinks Slavery was a choice, we will offer him a free ticket & tour guide to visit slave routes and camps in Badagry Lagos, Ouida, Benin Republic, Ghana & Goree Island in Senegal to ‘experience the choices in chains’.Kanye defecated on the graves of victims.”

Recall Naija News reported that Kanye had on Tuesday at the TMZ’s headquarters during an interview said: “When you hear about slavery for 400 years … For 400 years? That sounds like a choice.”

People were apparently displeased by this statement, and Sani follows many who have also taken to various social media platforms to show their anger.
